Shirome means white eye, and usually refers to the white part of the eye, but it also refers to expressions in which a person’s eyes are completely white, because they have turned them backwards.
In anime, a shirome expression is used when a character is tense, when they are surprised by something, when they are speechless, in a state of shock, or in disbelief.
