Xavi Figueras
If I had to find a word to explain why I do what I do, it would be fascination .
Fascination with water for what it is and what it does, the way it capriciously deforms the body, generating ephemeral figures of sublime surrealist abstraction, for how it creates, with light, fascinating visual wonders both in itself and in everything that surrounds it, even in the dark.
I have always been fascinated by the images it has given me and that is why, in one way or another, water is always present in my work, with whatever material I work with.
“Xavi Figueras is a contemporary artist whose work focuses on the exploration of the human figure in interaction with water.
His realistic style combines technical precision with an intimate and poetic atmosphere, where the stroke of the pencil and the brushstroke are visible, giving texture and honesty to each piece.
Xavi Figueras’ compositions convey calm, emotional depth and a strong connection with nature, capturing moments suspended in time.
His work has been exhibited and collected internationally, consolidating him as a singular voice in contemporary figurative art.”
